Regular exercise can help you attain and maintain a high level of physical fitness which in turn will benefit your mental and emotional health.

Among its many benefits, regular exercise helps to strengthen and tone the muscles, reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, improves cognitive function and agility, limits the risk of osteoporosis, and reduces anxiety while providing natural stress relief.

Feel-Good Hormones

The body releases endorphins while exercising. These are described as the "feel-good" chemical because of the uplifting effect they have on the mood.

Cognitive Performance

Moderate exercise is shown to reduce the risk of damage to cognitive function, while six months of intense aerobic exercise was identified as a possible way towards improving the cognitive performance of those suffering from impairment.

Adrenaline, dopamine and serotonin are also released, to increase feelings of euphoria, vitality and happiness.

Stress Hormones

Cortisol, the stress hormone, automatically lowers, resulting in an added sense of wellbeing.

Yoga asanas and cardiovascular exercises are excellent ways to release stress and get those feel-good chemicals and hormones pumping.

Osteoporosis is a bone deteriorating condition that affects post-menopausal women, particularly those of the Caucasian and Asian race.

Exercise and Cardiovascular Health

Regular exercise can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease by lowering hypertension, burning body fat and boosting metabolism, reducing bad low-density lipoprotein (LDL and total)

cholesterol, and raising levels of good high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol.

The risk of a heart attack was 50 times higher for those leading a sedentary lifestyle, in comparison to others working out around 5 times per week.
